Health and security
Ensuring the health and safety of our employees – and that of our clients and subcontractors – is a major issue, a key component of our business.
For several years, SITA has implemented a health and safety approach in order to provide everyone with the best possible working conditions, satisfy regulatory requirements and continually improve its level of control in terms of occupational hazards. This policy applies at all levels of the company. Accordingly, each manager – through a roadmap – is committed to following and implementing key safety measures.
Since 2011, SITA has been integrating safety requirements into all of our new projects. This initiative has led notably to the creation of traffic maps which have been posted throughout our sites, the organising of talks and the development of a safety culture within the company.
Raise awareness and informing
In each waste recycling operation, great attention is paid to the choice of individual and collective protection systems and worker training. In order to raise awareness among its employees, SITA initiates safety campaigns with the following five themes: ‘carts and equipment’, ‘gestures, postures and maintenance’, ‘falls and slips’, ‘order and cleanliness’ and ‘collective protection’.
"100% Safety" day
As part of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work organised by the International Labour Office (ILO) and the World Health Organization, SITA has rallied all of its teams around a ’100% Safety’ day.
20,000 company employees participated in workshops on the main health risks that SITA’s businesses are exposed to, and they have committed themselves to avoiding these risks in the workplace.
30% fewer serious accidents since 2010
200 safety experts throughout the country
