Treatment and disposal of hazardous waste and recovery of contaminated soil
SITA FD is an entity SITA SPE , the business division of SITA France specializes in the recovery and treatment of hazardous waste.
SITA FD provides manufacturers, communities, civil engineering firms, pollution control, social as well as individual donors , comprehensive services, from transport to disposal / treatment, with support for administrative procedures ( establishment waste identification cards , tickets monitoring of waste, etc. . ).
With 8 storage facilities , SITA FD has the most dense network of France .
At all sites , the exploitation is strictly regulated and controlled : safety barriers ( layer of clay materials , geomembrane, geotextile ) , traceability procedures and daily checks ensure the preservation of the environment.
Every year, 220,000 tonnes of hazardous waste is stabilized.
Stabilization is based on the physico- chemical research : for each waste , a specific formulation is developed in the laboratory. Pioneer technically , SITA FD has developed this process and continues to improve , working in particular on the choice of reagents used .
TREATMENT AND VALUATION OF LAND POLLUTED
With 250 000 tonnes of land received by year , SITA FD is a major treatment of polluted soils. To best meet the needs of its customers , SITA FD created Neoter ®. These Neoter ® systems optimize the transport , treatment and costs by maximizing the value of land .

- The first facility of its kind in the Rhône-Alpes region (France), this new centre completes the network of five other units in France accredited by SITA under the name Neoter®. Thanks to Neoter®, the polluted soil generated by construction sites and client industrial sites are sorted and pre-treated in order to increase their recovery capacity. In Ternay, the goal is to recover half of the soil treated in situ. In close proximity to the Rhône River with a dock directly accessible, the site of Ternay is ideal for the use of river transport. SITA FD’s goal is to transport half of the global tonnage using maritime means, therefore reducing CO2 emissions and the ecological footprint involved in processing polluted soils and sediments.
